Renault Key Services

Renault is one of the few manufacturers to have widely used a key card instead of a traditional key, so our Renault enquiries are a little different. Alongside lost and spare keys, we often hear about cards that have cracked from being sat on in a back pocket, or a car that keeps saying the card isn't detected.

Renault Key Cards Explained

Some Renault vehicles use a flat key card rather than a conventional key. Depending on the generation, you either slot the card into a reader on the dashboard and press start, or — on hands-free versions — simply keep it in your pocket and the car unlocks and starts as you approach.

Most cards also hide a small emergency blade for the door. Card types differ between generations and systems, so whether a replacement card can be supplied and programmed depends on your specific vehicle. Tell us the model and year and, if possible, send a photo of the card.

Conventional remote keys
